Great UX for product promotion via streaming video. Why? The video promo is clearly the priority for the page. It plays the second you click it (no loading… waiting… flashbacks to dial-up…) and the content is incredible (multiple customers using products, fun, great soundtrack). Check out how the video is shot and edited after to look like it is happening right on the page.

Apple builds, promotes and integrates better. If you haven’t seen it watch here MTV.com.  Then, visit your organization’s website and compare.

Join us online or on your mobile for a LIVE stream of “Stairway to Heaven” and see the Grace Fellowship team rock Led’s Zeppelin’s original. Also, for everyone waiting for the LIVE video for iPhone & iPad. It’s finally here! To watch with us visit http://live.gfcfamily.com at 12noon cst today (May 2, 2011) from iPhone, iPad. Oh and bring a friend, this is going to be incredible.

Great weekend @gfcfamily. Launched brand NEW church online stream. 209 people in 4 countries and 10 states joined in for the first weekend! You can check it out this Sunday 9:30 or 11:00AM CST & Monday 12Noon http://live.gfcfamily.com.

I have to say it was an amazing moment to hear BJ announce on-stage and on-air that we are now LIVE and broadcasting across the area and that several of our friends and family were joining us from all over. We are using LivePerson.com for the private chat software and JS-Kit.com for the lobby chat that integrates well with OpenId, Facebook and Twitter. We also hooked up a simple connect form for those new to Grace Fellowship and donation link for regular attenders.

We ran three services this weekend and all three were great! Currently only offering one medium bandwidth stream but moving quickly to accommodate a low and high stream by next weekend. Our next step is to stream to mobile. Love to get the word out. But also trying to implement a channel that offers more for very different audience. Who? You will see! A Big thank you to our streaming partner vLifeMedia — these guys have been streaming for years and they know what they are doing.

If you are interested in streaming for your organization give them a shout. They deliver small to large scale streaming solutions. http://www.vlifemedia.com.

Grace Fellowship Church Paradise, Texas - Live Streaming Services Online

It is crank week at Grace Fellowship Church as we get ready to launch the all new Live streaming of the services! Check it out September 19 at 9:30 & 11:00am. We tested behind the scenes this weekend and the quality looks good so far. The second DSL line is scheduled to be installed this week in order to help with load balance and maximizing bandwidth. We plan on using a simple custom css/php template to run it with chat, live prayer, social media integration and more. The best thing is letting friends, family and new viewers see what Grace Fellowship is all about. It’s a great way to check out the church and see if it is worth visiting but also a great tool for getting the message out across the states and globally.  Stay tuned!

Also, our temporary page and recent announcement seems to be drawing attention from many sides. Love seeing the different perspectives in the area.

Celebrating the Life of Oral Roberts: The Man Who Obeyed God
January 24, 1918 – December 15, 2009

Join us online tomorrow for the live stream of Oral Roberts Memorial Services. http://www.orm.cc I am told there will be more than 200,000 people joining in to watch the online service. Amazing.

Here are some quotes from Oral Roberts from his site.

“Expect a miracle!”

“In the midst of the turmoil, the fear, the anxiety that’s in our nation and in our world, as I was walking and meditating, I heard the voice of God. I’ve heard that voice many times; it’s familiar to me, and there’s no way that I can fail to understand it’s His voice because I’m familiar with it.”

“God is a good God, and the devil is a bad devil.”

“Something GOOD is going to happen to you today!”

“God wants you well. God wants you prosperous. God wants you a whole person.”

“God came to take off you what the devil put on you,
To take out of you what the devil put in you,
To put back on you what the devil took off you,
And to put back in you what the devil took out.”

“I respect doctors, and one reason is that they have grasped this eternal truth and are against sickness and for health. Consciously or unconsciously, they have a pretty good theology of healing. Sometimes I wish we Christians had such a good theology of healing. Then we might be less inclined to argue about whether it’s God’s will to heal or not.”

How many years until we all have the brand new 52″ Apple SmartTV* ?

Technology is moving. Fast. Just think about this: a bit more than 100 years ago Ford Motor Company started putting cars together on an assembly line – a major technology advancement. Now we are streamlining how we access information and communicate with different people and culture groups all over the globe. Get ready to see technology rapidly change our world. Here are the quick stats from 2007 just for comparison:

Series art for “Where The Wild Things Are” Capturing the Wonder of an Untamed God. We had a ton of fun shooting for this one. The original story was written by Maurice Sendak. You can check out the new movie trailer here http://wherethewildthingsare.warnerbros.com/. Woodlands Church is kicking off the new series right after Easter! The video team is working on the promo video now and we should have a link soon to preview. By the way, the kids in the shot are Blakers and Savannah, they did an amazing job. Also, we had a seriously talented team involved in this project: Justin Keller, Roy Ford, Toby Canning and Charles Booth. Very very fun. Here are some shots.

Just a quick screen capture of the live Sunday service webcast from Harvest.org.

It’s great to see churches broadcast their service over the Internet. I wanted to see the camera angles, shots, etc. It’s always interesting to see how much effort goes into different church web casts. LifeChurch.tv goes all out with an Internet Campus pastor and the option to choose worship services and more. Newspring.cc recently launched their new Internet campus a month or so ago.

So when are we launching? That’s the question. Submitting the details for our 2009 vision and goals next week. Fun stuff.

Still bringing it. LifeChurch.tv Internet Campus.

I jumped on to http://www.newspring.cc/icampus/ to check out the BETA launch of their new Internet Campus. Very cool, video streaming was excellent and lots of people showed. It’s amazing what churches are doing today to reach out. Great jobs guys. Can’t wait til we get ours in the works @woodlandschurch.

O.k. don’t vote. The election is already over so you missed it anyway. These are great spots about voting and it points viewers to Maps.Google.com/Vote. Very cool.

At Maps.Google.com/Vote you can find your voting location by entering in your home address. It also reminds the web user that they have to register to vote and that the location shown is for the November 4th election day only.

I honestly love the instantaneous feed of life recorded through the Internet and social media. I almost cracked a rib watching this bad boy. Here is a clip of “The John Otjen” rockin out to The Beastie Boys, singing “Sabotage”. It is amazing. Trust me. Or better yet, check it out for yourself:

I believe the crew in Oklahoma City were throwing a going away party for Aaron Havens who is now living and ministering in Mexico. Props to Aaron who is just following a call; he moved his family into one of the poorest areas of the world to just be Jesus to people. Check out his blog and journey at http://openapologies.org/. Some really cool thoughts and more importantly actions from these guys.

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men.”

Titus 2:11

grace…

Do you stand proud of the kingdom you’ve built?

or

Does this merit an apology?”

My response: I probably have not discovered the level of boldness that Christ had for His Church while he was here on this earth. This life is definitely a struggle. I wonder everyday why it seems so hard to do it well. I too have many apologies to give; but better to live them out than just offer words. I thank God everyday for His favor and grace.

The news is labeling Hurricane Ike as a #freak. Intersting. We were not even expecting the storm to hit Galveston until 12 hours before. Kind of scary to see peoples faces and reactions when the news started predicting the path to hit us, directly. We scrambled and put together emergency plans and communication channels just before the storm hit. National Geographic sums it up well. Right before it hit us, it smacked right into Cuba and Haiti. Check out the shots and video:

“Hurricane Ike will be entered into the record books for the severe damage it inflicted in and around Galveston, Texas, experts say. “This one’s going to be famous for a long time, if for no other reason than it hit Texas, which hadn’t gotten a strike by a damaging hurricane in 25 years,” said Jeff Masters, director of Weather Underground, a private commercial forecasting service.”

The shot above is from the video “Giant Waves Crash Over Buildings” in Cuba.

Check out the request for proposals for creatives. Interesting projects and grants for organizations investing in expanding the creative arts; film, photography, design and more. The site also covers projects for technology, research and development, government, professional; all kinds of cool stuff. I bet Woodlands Church could apply for the $15,000 short film grant for creating educational programs promoting film. Anyway, good stuff, good site.

Myra and I got our tickets to this Friday’s Hillsong United Conference. Pumped about checking out these guys. Watched their television program for the first time a few weeks back. Talk about serious quality. Video, worship, message, style, all of the above; excellent. Justin Keller gave me the heads up a month or so back. Even better, planning on heading out to Australia next year to catch them in their home town. How nice would that be? Ok, maybe I’m just praying to go at this point.

It’s still early, grab your tickets and join us Friday night and all day Saturday. Now we got to get Dave, Stan, Chris and Duncan to head down with us. Ready to check out Carl Lentz from the Wave Church, Virginia Beach, VA, Joel Houston the Creative Director at Hillsong Church, Phil Dooley, Chrishan Jeyaratnam Youth Pastor at Hillsong. The past few years has been an amazing time of learning, new experiences and impact. I thank God that He kicks us in the butt sometimes and let’s us know that we are missing it. We always need  to continue learn, we always must be equally comitted to making an impact in our community and where ever God leads.

It is time. The Woodlands Church Northwest Campus preview service is tonight 6pm at Concordia High School! Myra’s family is excited about the new church opening there in the Klein/249/Tomball area. They have visited the Fellowship Campus off and on for the past 4 years and they have always said, “We just wish you guys were closer.” We’ll now we are! Going to be very cool to launch the new campus on the Northwest side of town. We have over 800 people join us at the Woodlands Church East Campus launch in Humble/Kingwood/Atascocita area this time last year. We will see what tonight looks like! God is amazing, He get’s all the credit. It is just amazing to see the vision come to reality! Good work guys.

Keep up with the updates via http://www.Twitter.com/WoodlandsChurch or http://www.woodlandschurch.tv! Very very very exciting. Pray that this new location reaches thousands for Christ this year!
